Real Support for Real People Leaders

The HER Teams Why

Work today places significant and often unrelenting demands on both leaders and employees. Chronic stress in the workplace not only impacts performance, but contributes to serious physical health concerns from unaddressed contributing factors, as well as mental health challenges including anxiety and depression. Despite this, many leaders are expected to manage these realities without the training or support needed to do so effectively.

We created HER Teams to address that gap. We equip leaders with the relational skills and self-regulation tools required to build psychologically safe, stable, and well-functioning teams. This work is important because when people feel supported and regulated, they are able to think more clearly and creatively, collaborate more effectively, and remain invested and engaged in their work over time.

Healthy teams are not only better for individuals, they are essential for strong organizations. When leaders know how to create environments that support both well-being and accountability, teams are able to focus their energy on producing meaningful, high-quality work without the cost of burnout.

Neurodiversity in the Workplace

Neurodiversity is a natural and valuable part of today’s workforce, bringing strengths such as creativity, deep focus, pattern recognition, and innovative problem-solving. At the same time, neurodivergent employees often navigate workplaces that are not designed with their needs in mind, which can lead to misunderstanding, miscommunication, and intensified stress. Without informed leadership, these gaps can limit both individual contribution and overall team effectiveness.

Equipped and regulated leaders are essential for neurodiverse teams to function well. Leaders who understand how to communicate clearly, create structure, and respond with flexibility are better able to support different working styles without lowering expectations. When leaders are grounded and intentional in how they lead, they create environments where neurodivergent employees can perform at their highest level, contributing to stronger, more adaptive, and more effective teams.

Women in Leadership

Women in leadership often carry complex and competing demands, balancing high expectations for performance with the relational and cultural dynamics of the workplace. They are frequently relied upon to lead teams, manage communication, and maintain stability, often without the structured support needed to sustain this level of responsibility. Without intentional development, this can lead to overextension, burnout, and missed opportunities to fully leverage their leadership impact.

Equipping women leaders with the skills to be well and regulated is essential for meaningful organizational progress. When women leaders are supported in strengthening their self-regulation, communication, and leadership presence, they lead with greater clarity, confidence, and consistency. This not only enhances their individual effectiveness, but also improves team dynamics, increases psychological safety, and strengthens overall organizational performance.

Self-Regulation at Work

Self-regulation is an answer to stress management, yet at work, it is often overlooked. It sits at the core of how employees think, communicate, and perform. Many professionals operate within environments that place constant demands on their attention, responsiveness, and output requiring sustained focus while navigating interpersonal dynamics and ongoing pressure. They are expected to remain composed, productive, and engaged, often without the awareness or tools needed to support their internal regulation. Without intentional support, this can lead to chronic dysregulation, reduced clarity, reactive communication, and diminished capacity over time.

Equipping employees with the skills to understand and support their nervous system is essential for sustainable performance. When individuals are supported in strengthening their self-regulation, they are better able to manage stress, maintain focus, and respond thoughtfully rather than reactively. This not only improves individual effectiveness, but also enhances team communication, increases psychological safety, and supports more consistent, high-quality performance across the organization.
